A Place in Time

Oil on canvas, framed  48 X 36

Mother and I on a trip to Wakulla Springs, Florida, shortly after Daddy died.  We had spent many summer days there while I was growing up, in the beautiful lodge with the marble floors, bronze and marble staircases, bronze and marble checker tables, and many of  the same furnishings found in the Edgewater Gulf Hotel.

Mom and Dad loved the movie, A Place in Time, about love and an old hotel, giving me the name of this painting.  Mother and I also visited the hotel for several days at Mackinac Island, Michigan, to see where the movie was filmed.

Interestingly, the lodge still exists with its beautiful features, and the cold, clear springs still flow forming the Wakulla River, forming a state park, south of Tallahassee.
